We will get to the RBC Heritage Classic that is finishing up today, I just want to talk about golf in general.  I know I have said it in the past, but I have to say it again:  I love golf.  There are so many reasons that I love it.  I love the rich history and the way that while it might change in some ways to become more modernized, the game of golf is still a true gentleman’s game.

I also love that, no matter how hard you practice or think about it, you are never ever guaranteed a flawless game.  Even the man who was once the best in the world, Tiger Woods, can’t seem to make the game happen for him with all the work that he has been putting into recently.

Well then, you might be interested in learning more about a sensation that is sweeping the nation: disc golf. Disc golf is only similar to golf in a few obvious ways: there are targets, and there are things aimed at them. Competitors try to get something to a specified place in order to score points. Beyond this, it’s an entirely different game.

Happy New Year to all of you golf lovers out there! While you might still be nursing yourself after a long night of ringing in 2012, you might also be pretty excited about this Friday coming up. You know, January 6th? If you are not sure what I am talking about, I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. This Friday marks the start of the 2012 season of PGA Tour golf.

For two years we all watched as golf’s elite player, Tiger Woods fail to win any match after his life and professional career was sent in a downward spiral.  He spent those years taking breaks after the car crash and other personal issues, and he would come back saying he felt ready.  Only, Tiger wasn’t ready, not yet at least.  Golf fans had become quite accustomed to seeing him win, so watching all of those loses seemed strange.
